Meet the Doctor:

Dr. Snyder’s journey into the world of medicine began at the age of 15, driven by a passion for both the art and science of healing. She graduated with honors in nursing before earning her MD, also with honors, from the renowned Kharkiv State Medical University, one of Ukraine’s oldest and most prestigious medical schools. Following her medical degree in 2005, she pursued a two-year Master’s program in Medicine, coupled with a pediatric internship in Kharkiv.

Her pursuit of excellence led her to the United States, where she completed her Child Neurology training at the University of Rochester in 2013, followed by a Neuromuscular Fellowship in 2014. Dr. Snyder is distinguished by her four board certifications: Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology, Headache Medicine, Epilepsy, and Neuromuscular Medicine.

Dr. Snyder will soon be starting her role as an Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate, where she is committed to advancing the field of neurology and educating the next generation of medical professionals. Outside of her practice, she enjoys biking, swimming, and cherishing time with her husband and four children—three sons and a daughter.

Why Board Certification Matters When Choosing a Physician

When it comes to your health, choosing the right physician is one of the most important decisions you can make. Board certification serves as a significant indicator of a physician’s expertise and commitment to providing high-quality care.

Board-certified physicians have undergone rigorous training and evaluation in their specialty, including passing comprehensive exams that assess their knowledge, skills, and experience. This certification is not a one-time achievement; it requires continuous learning and recertification, ensuring that your physician stays current with the latest advancements in medicine.

By selecting a board-certified physician, you can be confident that your doctor has met high standards of practice in their field. This can offer you greater peace of mind and trust in the care you receive.
